Understanding Addiction and Supporting Recovery

A new course is being run which aims to help train Christians in how to support people recovering from addiction.

Understanding Addiction and Supporting Recovery in the Church is a series of events looking at various aspects of this area. These will be running throughout 2016 and into 2017.

The current programme includes:

Understanding Addiction (7 May 2016) - Dr Fergus Law, consultant psychiatrist

Relapse and Recovery (9 July 2016) - Ant Newman, BMH recovery navigator

Trauma and Attachment (10 September 2016) - Fr Giles Lascelle, trauma specialist

Mental Health (19 November 2016) - Dr Ben Watson, consultant psychiatrist

The 12 Step Programme and Mutual Groups (14 January 2017) - Lydia Davenport, drugs and alcohol counsellor

From Homlessness to Independent Living (11 March 2017) - Matt Albury, prison chaplain and former hostel manager

All the events will take place in Woodlands Church, Bristol.

There is a suggested donation of 5 per session on the door.
