FAQs

Q. What software do you recommend for keeping parish financial records?

A. In some respects, this might come down to how much the PCC is willing to spend and what level of functionality you need. While the diocese is not recommending any in particular, four varied options that you might want to consider are:

Data Developments – Finance Coordinator
This is used by a number of our parishes and helps with the Return of Parish Finance

Cash book – developed by colleagues in the Diocese of Gloucester
This is a free, spreadsheet-based , basic accounting system.

Liberty Accounts
This is a charity specific package, with some specific features for Church of England PCCs.

Xero
This seems to be one of the most popular, general accounts packages for small organisations including charities.
