Children will be blasting off for Christmas when an astronaut brings good news to a Swindon church service.
A spaceman has been invited to help give out books from the Bible Society to youngsters at the 4pm Crib Service at St Mary's Lydiard Tregoze, on Christmas Eve.
The visitor will be on hand ready to pass out With Love from God to You, the latest nativity story booklet from the Bible Society.
Revd Capt Clive Deverell, vicar of St Mary's, said: "I wanted to show how, in the same way that an astronaut looks down from space and sees the whole of the planet, so God looks and sees all of us too.
"The nativity book from the Bible Society, With Love from God to You, talks about how much God loves us all - a love that stretches all around the Earth.
"Like the spaceman who came travelling in the Chris de Burgh song, our astronaut will be giving out good news to the children about the birth of Jesus."
Space has been a common theme in Swindon this Christmas with astronaut Steve Swanson paying a visit to the new Deanery Academy earlier in the month.
With Love from God to You is one of a number of Advent and Christmas themed resources available from the Bible Society.
