Praying for those to be ordained - Eleanor's Story
Eleanor Huggins will be ordained as a Deacon on Sunday 3rd July and will be Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Stoke Gifford.
Please read Eleanor’s story below:
“It is with great excitement, as well as an element of surprise, that I am being ordained! Following university, I sensed God’s call to work with young people and it was during this time people started asking if I’d be ordained. My answer was always a rather firm ‘no’ – I couldn’t imagine being a vicar! However, I loved serving God’s church and so, when God called me in 2013 to work with students in Cambridge, I jumped at the opportunity. March 2016 was a turning point however as, whilst at the funeral of a young friend, I sensed God say ‘forget everyone else… what if I am calling you to be ordained?’ This was rather unexpected but widely confirmed over the following days and the discernment process began. Passionate about seeing people come into relationship with the living God and building up His church, I am excited for all that is to come as I continue to say ‘yes’ to his call.”
Look out for tomorrow's story!
