The Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol, is delighted to announce that Revd Canon Alice Kemp has been appointed as the next Dean of Women’s Ministry.
Bishop Viv said: “I am delighted to welcome Alice as the new Dean of Women’s Ministry. Her diverse background uniquely equips her for this vital role. Alice’s commitment to ensuring the full integration of women clergy in every facet of ministry is essential in our journey towards a more inclusive church.”
In her role as Dean of Women’s Ministry, Alice will be a member of Bishop’s Staff Team ensuring the full inclusion of women in every part of ministry in the Diocese of Bristol, as well as acting as a strategic advocate for women clergy in the Diocese.
Alice studied social psychology at Kent University and after this had careers in specialist housing provision before training as a teacher where she taught in special schools. She trained for ordination at STETS and since completing her curacy has worked as a military chaplain and diocesan disability adviser
Alice said: “I am delighted to be taking on this new role and I am looking forward to working with and getting to know better the women clergy in the diocese. I am passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion for all in the church including those in ministry.”
