A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Bristol DAC Awards for 2024 at Cotham Parish Church on 9 May with Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol, Canon Simon Pugh-Jones, Revd Becky Waring and Revd Adam Beaumont, and congratulations to winners!
Each year the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) recognises a number of projects via its awards scheme. DAC Awards are made where a parish has completed a project to an exceptional standard of workmanship, or where a project has been key to that parish's growth and mission.
Guests started the evening with refreshments followed by a welcome from Canon Simon Pugh-Jones, an introduction from Richard Leaman, CEO, Diocese of Bristol, a message from Marcus Booth, presentative of Ecclesiastical (event sponsor), a talk from Rt Revd Viv Faull, Bishop of Bristol and then the presentation of the awards by the Revd Becky Waring, Acting Archdeacon of Bristol and Revd Adam Beaumont, Associate Archdeacon.
Congratulations to the five parishes that received the DAC Awards this year:
- Cotham Parish Church, Bristol who won the award for their reordering project, including a ramped floor, servery and meeting area
- St Mary the Virgin, Redcliffe who won the award for their ‘Who is my neighbour?’ window
- St Stephen, Bristol who won the award for their repairs to monuments, replastering and repairs to flooring
- St Anne, Bowden Hill who won the award for their construction of a new buttress and the rebuilding of a chancel arch
- St Matthew, Bristol who won the award for their trialling of halo heaters
The event closed with a prayer from Revd Becky Waring and the smooth running of the evening was helped by volunteers of Cotham Parish Church. It was a lovely evening and we wanted to congratulate each of the deserving winners individually.
With thanks to Ecclesiastical for supporting our awards event.
