Christ Church Infants School and Christ Church Downend have been working together, welcoming each other to their premises and sharing events for many years. On Monday 7th October Liz Townend and Ali Driver from the Bristol Diocese visited the school to present the Church School Partnership Award which recognises and celebrates this longstanding relationship.
Headteacher Anna Martin commented, We have built such strong and meaningful links with the Christ Church community over the past couple of years. Belinda Stowe, one of our Foundation Governors, and Helen Buick, childrens worker, have both played a key part in this from supporting the staff to lead effective daily Collective Worship to hundreds of children being passionate about joining in activities such a Bible Club, our Wonder days and Experience Harvest. Christ Church always opens its doors to us, in challenging times and to celebrate, but this partnership award shows how much deeper this relationship is and how much it enhances our day to day life. Thank you to our wonderful Church and staff team, particularly Katherine Jenkins (RE Lead), for all your hard work.
Rev Jo Vickery said This is an encouraging marker of the significant steps that the church and school have taken together towards our common vision to nurture LIFE in all its fullness
