Revd Sally Robertson re-appointed as Area Dean for Swindon

The Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon is pleased to announce that the Revd Sally Robertson was re-appointed as the Area Dean for Swindon within the Archdeaconry of Malmesbury.

Bishop Neil says: "It’s good news that Sally is continuing in her role as the Area Dean for Swindon. Sally knows the town - its churches and communities. She has led on shaping the Deanery mission plan, alongside being Vicar of St Andrew’s. It’s an encouragement to think about Sally, all clergy and laity in our Swindon churches ‘Transforming Church. Together’ - faithfully following Jesus, serving others and transforming communities.”

Sally was ordained in the Diocese of Oxford in 2010 and served her curacy as a self supporting minister in Purley-on Thames near Reading. After her family relocated to Swindon in 2013, she enjoyed 3 years as self-supporting Associate Minister at St John’s Haydon Wick before moving to the neighbouring parish of St Andrew, North Swindon where she was appointed full-time vicar in 2017.

Sally says: "I am delighted to be continuing as Area Dean for Swindon for the coming 3 years. I am passionate about churches working together in unity and the Area Dean role gives me plenty of opportunity to encourage this and see how parishes might effectively share resources and mission. Our Deanery plan is ready for implementation and I am hopeful that we will be able to accelerate its progress in 2025 and beyond. Swindon Deanery is a very supportive place to work and worship and we have been greatly encouraged by seeing God at work in many churches across the town in the past year."
