The Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon, is delighted to announce that Revd Patches Chabala has been appointed as the next Vicar of St John’s Haydon Wick.
Bishop Neil said:
“I am thrilled to welcome Patches as the new Vicar of St John’s Haydon Wick. His experience leading a large multi-congregational church in Dorset, provides him with the tools needed to serve in Swindon. Patches’ passion for the gospel and enabling people to grow in their spiritual gifts, will help build a brighter and refreshing future for the community.”
Patches will be relocating from St Mary’s Ferndown and Hampreston in Diocese of Salisbury, where he served as Team Vicar. He provided pastoral care, developed leadership and discipleship, and helped with intentional outreach to primary schools and the community.
Patches will start his new role as Vicar of St John’s Haydon Wick in summer 2024.
Patches said:
“I am delighted to be taking on this new role and I am looking forward to moving to Haydon Wick. I pray for St John’s Haydon Wick ‘That the Lord may keep you in the grip of his grace always, and that you will emerge stronger in faith, wiser in counsel and love for God and his ways enriched and deepened’. Every blessing to you all.”
