Fraudulent letters targeting charities

The Charity Commission has issued a warning about fraudsters targeting charities with fake letters.

A news post has been added to the National Church Parish Resources website: Fraudulent letters targeting charities - Parish Resources and the original press release from the Charity Commission can be found on their website: Charity Regulator warns about fraudulent letters

If in doubt, charities are encouraged to contact the Charity Commission to check any correspondence they have received.

While it is not entirely clear whether only registered charities are at risk, it is important for all parochial church councils (PCCs) to remain vigilant. Likewise, many of our PCCs are registered with the Charity Commission, and many parishes and volunteers are connected to other charities.

Please spread the word, as appropriate to protect our communities.
