'Creative Family Focused Expressions of Church made simple' resource launched

Many churches in the Diocese of Bristol and across the country have found that Messy Church has provided them with an excellent way to connect with families and people of all ages in a creative act of worship. Indeed, many of these fresh expressions of church are growing and thriving, both on a Sunday and midweek, with over 2500 people attending such services each month. A range of support is available to those running Messy Church.

However, many churches do not have the resources necessary to run Messy Church effectively.

In response to this, and as part of Making Disciples in Your Parish, the Diocese has produced a new resource: Creative family focused expressions of church made simple!

This resource presents a suggested approach to a church service which is creative, family-focused and deliverable with limited resources. The approach could be used at breakfast time, on a Sunday afternoon, or midweek after school, and example service outlines for these different circumstances have been provided in the appendix.

It is hoped that this resource will inspire new ideas for patterns of worship which connect afresh with new generations in parishes across the Diocese. If you would like any support for making use of this resource in your parish, or would like to share with us how you have used it, please contact Dan Jones; Diocesan Youth and Children's Adviser.
