Yesterday, Bishop Lee had a very enjoyable rehearsal with the ordinands ahead of the weekend services, and shared the following prayer:
Blessed are you, Lord our God.
How sweet are your words to the taste,
sweeter than honey to the mouth.
How precious are your commands for our life,
more than the finest gold in our hands.
How marvellous is your will for the world,
Unending is your love for the nations.
We pray for those soon to be ordained deacon and priest
on retreat these days
May they know God close to them
May any anxieties be stilled.
And may we sing of God’s promises
and our lips declare His praise.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God for ever.
The Revd Dr Simon Taylor, Director of Ministry Development, said, 'It’s exciting to see so many people responding to God’s call to ordained ministry. Please pray for them as they prepare to be ordained and pray also for the communities they will serve, and their Training Incumbents'
Rev Nicola Harris, who is to be ordained Priest, said, 'It feels very much that God is driving the journey and I am enormously grateful for his guidance and the people he has brought me amongst in this season who are also passionate for him and to see his will be done in loving justice and mercy and walking humbly with our God.'
Eleanor Huggins, who is to be ordained Deacon, said, 'Passionate about seeing people come into relationship with the living God and building up His church, I am excited for all that is to come as I continue to say ‘yes’ to his call.'
Regan Meares, who is to be ordained Deacon, said, ‘This whole process has taught me how to completely trust in God in every part of my life. God has kept me moving forward at times when I was ready to give up.’
