Rt Revd Neil Warwick and Revd Wanda KayThe Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol and the Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon are delighted to announce that Revd Wanda Kay Morris as Associate Minister (SSM), Benefices of Yate and Fromeside, Diocese of Bristol, and Officiating Chaplain to the Military, MOD Corsham.

Wanda was ordained in Bristol Cathedral after completing her theological training at Trinity College, Bristol. Before ordination, for almost thirty years, she was self-employed and ran her own Dancing School, where she entered many children for ballet, modern and jazz exams. Wanda enjoyed the creative side of dance and would choreograph a biennial show, which was very always very well received, and raised monies for local charities. Wanda is married to Alan, and they have three grown up children, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild. She enjoys spending time with her family, and lots of walking, especially with Elmo the dog, who readily enjoys a walk at a moment’s notice

Wanda, said:

“I am very much looking forward to being licenced to the parish of Yate and Fromeside Benefice, and as an OCM (Officiating Chaplain to the military). Although being licencing seems like the pinnacle of the last ten years, I recognise that this in many ways, is the beginning of a new chapter. I am very excited to serve, not only in the local community, where I have been warmly welcomed, but in the military which brings a very different side to ministry. I sense God has gifted me with a passion for his people; to be sincere and to walk with them, through the highs and the lows of life. Such a privilege.”

“My thanks to Wanda for her dedicated and fruitful service as Assistant Curate at Benefice of Yate and Fromeside, Diocese of Bristol. It’s great, that as she starts as Associate Minister in those Benefices, she’s also answered the call to become Officiating Chaplain to the Military in Corsham. Military chaplains provide spiritual, pastoral and ethical support to service women and men. It’s vital and demanding work, which Wanda has experience of.  My prayers are with Wanda, and I look forward to hearing of the positive impact of her ministry.”
