The Revd Victoria (Vicky) Louise Wicks was licensed as Assistant Curate (known as Minister) at Holy Trinity, Stapleton in the Benefice of Frenchay and Stapleton. Vicky was licensed by the Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon at Holy Trinity, Stapleton on 5th June 2025.
Vicky has led the church community at Holy Trinity Stapleton since early 2024. Formerly in theatre management, she joined St Michael’s Church in Stoke Gifford after moving to Bristol nearly 30 years ago. Ordained in 2020, she completed her curacy at St Michael’s before leading a team to help revitalise Holy Trinity. Now living in Stapleton, she’s excited to see how God is working in the community.

“It’s unusual to be licensed a year and a half into a role, but grafting is also unusual! It’s like planting a church, but instead of starting from scratch, you get to work with a community that already exists and that is already worshipping and praying in the parish. A team of us joined the existing congregation in January 2023, and it is such a delight to be part of this new church community at Holy Trinity in Stapleton. We are a new church family seeking to follow Jesus and do what he asks of us here, and where we’re called to during the week. We’re all learning and growing as we do that – growing not just in number, but also in our depth of love for, and understanding of, Jesus. I am looking forward to more of this; to building relationships with our community so that more people can know Jesus for themselves, to using our beautiful building to bring people together to worship, to sharing what we have with those that need it, to building a community of all ages and abilities and backgrounds that welcomes people home. My favourite parable is the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15), and my prayer is that the people of Stapleton and beyond will be welcomed home and discover how much they are loved.”
We give thanks for Vicky's ministry, and pray for continued growth, joy and blessings in the life of Holy Trinity, Stapleton.
