Revd Alison Love announced as Area Dean for North Wilts

The Bishop of Bristol, Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, is pleased to announce that Alison Love has been appointed Area Dean of North Wiltshire.

Alison has been Rector of The Draycot Benefice, a group of five rural churches, since 2014.

Originally from Yorkshire, Alison read Religious Studies at Lancaster University before completing a PGCE at Westminster College, Oxford. She went on to have a successful career in primary education, working in London and Wiltshire.

Alongside teaching Alison worked as a Lay Minister at St Andrews Church, Chippenham from 2004 and following ordination in 2011 was Assistant Curate at St Peters Church, Chippenham.

Alison is married to Peter, a company director, and they have two daughters.

She said: I am honoured and excited to be asked to serve the Diocese as Area Dean for North Wilts, supporting the clergy and churches, and helping to develop the diocesan vision and priorities.

There are seven deaneries in the Diocese of Bristol. Area Deans play a key role in helping resource parishes as they implement the diocesan vision and priorities, as well as reporting to the Bishop on any significant matters arising from their churches.

Bishop Viv said: I am delighted to appoint Alison as Area Dean and I am grateful for her willingness to serve in this way alongside the good work she is already doing in the Draycot Benefice. Please support her with your prayers as she begins her new role.
