The Revd Elspeth Desmond was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the community.
Elspeth has been a member of St Peter's, Filton in north Bristol for over 25 years and, most recently, following her retirement from chaplaincy at Horfield Prison, has been the driving force behind the creation of a community cafe in the west end of the church.
Commenting on the award, she said:
"Starting the community cafe was always a dream, but it wasn't until I was retired that I was able to do it.
"It's been going from strength to strength and I couldn't have done it without the help of the wonderful volunteers I am delighted that everyone's hard work has been recognised.
Andrew Morgan, who is a churchwarden at All Saints, Clifton, was honoured for his tireless charity work.
Regularly to be seen wielding his gavel and putting his auctioneering expertise to good use at a wide range of charity events, Andrew was made MBE in recognition of his fundraising efforts across Bristol and beyond, not least in support of the diocesan link with Uganda, of which he, and the congregation at All Saints, are enthusiastic supporters.
