Nominations are now open for election to Diocesan committees, including the Vacancy in See Committee.
When a new triennium (3-year session) of Diocesan Synod commences, the House of Clergy and House of Laity of Diocesan Synod are required to elect various individual posts and committees.
Many of the individual posts and committees operate on a 3 or 6-year term. Some of these posts can only be filled by those in Diocesan Synod, including the following posts:
- Chair of the House of Clergy of Diocesan Synod
- Chair of the House of Laity of Diocesan Synod
- Standing Committee/Bishop’s Council/Board of Directors of Bristol Diocesan Board of Finance Limited
The following committees also require election in 2024 and do not require individuals to have a seat on Diocesan Synod:
- Vacancy in See Committee
- Diocesan Board of Patronage
A brief description of each committee and its purpose, the governance structure and election timetable can be found on the Synod Elections page, along with the relevent nominations forms. They must be appropriately filled in and returned by noon on 29 August 2024.
