The Diocese of Kigezi Electoral College and House of Bishops, through the normal and official procedure, have elected Rev. Canon George Bagamuhunda to be the next Bishop.
Canon George was ordained in 1983; served as School Chaplain, Tutor at a Divinity College and worked with the Kigezi Diocese Water and Sanitation Programme until 2007 when he moved on to serve as Provincial Planning, Development and Rehabilitation Coordinator. Later, from May 2010, he has been serving as the Provincial Secretary of the Church of Uganda.
Canon George Bagamuhunda will be consecrated and enthroned on the 19th January 2014 at St. Peters Cathedral, Rugarama, Kabale at 10.00 a.m.
