Four children made the pledge in front of friends and family at St Barnabas Church in Gorse Hill, Swindon as they committed to following Jesus as part of a Messy Baptism service.
Messy Church has been running at the church for the last four years and this was the obvious next step for the group of children who attend it.
It was exciting to see this growing and vibrant young church community creating connections and welcoming more members into the fold through the sacrament of Baptism.
The Revd Harvey Gibbons, Priest-in-Charge of All Saints and St Barnabas, said: It was the perfect opportunity for everyone there to get involved and learn something new.
Some children offered prayers and readings, and parents and Godparents took part in the anointing of the candidates whilst one of the younger members of the congregation acted as temporary deacon of the oils.
Everyone had the opportunity to take part in the ceremony by presenting candles, hearts and crosses they had made and decorated, as symbols for the Love of God and the light for the world we become when baptised.
