Lesson plans: What do people believe about life?

First published 14th May 2013

This unit explores ideas about the natural world and our place in it, and relates them to religious and other beliefs. These 11 lesson plans are for a Year 5 or 6 class.

This example connects with Awareness, Mystery and Value lcoally agreed syllabus - Areas of Enquiry A (Beliefs, teachings and sources) and E (Questions of meaning, purpose and truth), and for its Key stage 2 Unit 8 What do people believe about life?

The lessons could be used in discrete RE time or as part of a creative curriculum approach where RE links with other curriculum subjects such as ICT and Literacy, around a key question. They were written by Sue Thompson, AST and Year 5 teacher for Elmlea Junior School. (Some material has been taken/adapted from the AMV website.)
