Racial Justice Officer (Maternity cover)
Salary: £40,000 (fixed term contract – 12 months)
Hours: Full time – 35 hours/week
Location: Hybrid working – 60% office based, Stoke Gifford, Bristol
Bristol Diocese takes its commitments to Racial Justice very seriously – we have a well-developed strategy and action plan, with strong leadership buy-in, which we are in the process of implementing. This is an exciting time to join the racial justice team, and your lived experience will support your work with colleagues and the local community to further inclusion and develop partnership working.
In this role you will have the opportunity to practically apply your commitment to racial justice, to make a difference across the Bristol Diocese. You will find yourself working on a variety of projects, including but not limited to training and development, supporting the auditing of monuments in church buildings which may form part of the Church’s contested heritage, supporting the creation of tools, resources and events that seek to promote racial justice, and so much more.
If you enjoy working on a range of projects at the same time this role would suit you – and there will be plenty of support for areas of work which may be new to you, from the Racial Justice Team and colleagues across the Diocese.
If you would like to have an informal conversation about this role, please contact Jillian Downing, Racial Justice Officer – jillian.downing@bristoldiocese.org.
