Churches Mutual, the UK’s foremost ecumenical financial co-operative, representing seven denominations in England, Scotland and Wales, recently announced the launch of a new marketing campaign, visual identity and website.
The campaign draws on independent research, which found that while Churches Mutual has a highly positive reputation amongst existing members it needed to do more to extend its appeal to younger non-members, such as early career church ministers and church workers, for whom borrowing with an ethical, competitive, friendly and transparent financial organisation is particularly attractive.
This initiative, the biggest investment in marketing since Churches Mutual was launched in 2015, comprises a fresh new brand identity and website, designed with support from specialist agency Indigo Multimedia. Alongside, Churches Mutual is launching a social media campaign on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, to boost awareness of the credit union.
The new website incorporates a user-friendly experience, making it easier than ever to access information about member savings, apply for loans, and find out the latest news about the credit union. It features improved navigation, enhanced and a responsive design that adapts seamlessly to any device.
Ian Buchanan, Board Director responsible for marketing said:
“Earlier this year, with financial support from our founder churches, we set out to refresh our marketing strategy based on independent market research. As a result, we have overhauled our brand and website, majoring on the values that our existing members love – transparency and friendliness – while offering a fresh look which we think will appeal to younger savers and borrowers who are clear that companies they do business with must be backed by a clear social purpose.”
Churches Mutual CEO, Hilary Sams said:
“We have built our credit union around the idea that connection matters. As a mutual, we take our responsibility of communicating clearly with our members and prospective members very seriously. This new website is a major step forward, which will help us grow sustainably in the years ahead.”
