Bishop Viv's week in the House of Lords

Parliament returned from recess this week and met on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September, with the Lord Bishop of Bristol beginning each sitting day in the House of Lords with prayers. Over the two days, the Bishop also raised questions relating to spending on international aid, the effects of long-COVID and the government's response to the refugee crisis. On Wednesday 2 September in the House of Lords, the Lord Bishop of Bristol, Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, asked the government about the reports of their intent to overturn the legal commitment to spend 0.7% of gross national income on aid.

 

On Thursday 3 September in the House of Lords, the Lord Bishop of Bristol, Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, asked the government what steps they are taking to raise public awareness of so-called ‘long-COVID’ and to invest in the care of those now chronically ill.
