Negotiable Hours: (20 - 35 hrs.) 3-year fixed term contract with likely extension

We’re looking for someone with a pioneering spirit, pastoral gifts, and an evangelistic heart. who loves telling stories of Jesus to children of all ages, and who shares our vision to be full of infectious joy as the family of God. We’re set in the heart of a lively community with a good relationship with the primary school next door and plenty of other missional opportunities to explore, including a very established breakfast club during school holidays, and other ideas to develop our connections with children, youth, and families.

We have big ambitions to follow Jesus in reaching those who haven’t met Him yet and have a remarkable, loving church community, which is seeing the power of the Holy Spirit at work in transforming lives.

There is great support, training, and networking with peers in the Bristol area, which is an exciting city, easily accessed from Sea Mills. Please talk to us about accommodation, if need be, as we may be able to help find the successful candidate a place to live. We are open to a part-time or full-time position and have funding for at least three years for this post, which we’re hoping to extend beyond that.

Our top requirements are for a prayerful, Bible-based, and Spirit-led communicator who is equally at ease in a toddlers’ group as with primary-aged children and school staff. You will be line managed by the vicar and have excellent, prayerful support from the senior leadership team, as well as from a wider Mission Area with other Children and Families Workers. This is not a blank canvas but there are exciting prospects for branching out!

Please phone the vicar, Sally Thomas, for an informal chat about the church, the community, or the role (077 2959 7477) or email vicar@stedyths.org.uk. A full job description and an application form can be found on our website www.stedyths.org.uk

There is some flexibility, within reason, over the timing of interviews, so please indicate any constraints that would affect you attending an interview.
