Governance Support Coordinator
Salary: £28,500
Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 part-time)

The Bristol Diocesan Board of Finance is seeking a dedicated and proactive Governance Support Coordinator to join our Governance Support Team. Working alongside two colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective governance of the Diocese of Bristol, helping to uphold our commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Committee Elections: Assist with the coordination and facilitation of elections for committees and decision-making bodies, ensuring all processes align with governance protocols.
- Organize Meetings: Take ownership of scheduling and organizing governance-related meetings, including logistics, agendas, and minute-taking, to ensure smooth operations and timely decision-making.
- Annual General Meetings (AGMs): Provide crucial administrative support to parishes in planning and executing their AGMs, ensuring compliance with governance requirements and facilitating engagement with stakeholders.
- Governance Changes & Record Management: Assist in administering changes to governance structures, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all documentation is updated and compliant with relevant regulations.
- General Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Governance team, ensuring governance activities run smoothly and efficiently, and providing guidance where necessary to staff and parishes.

- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Knowledge of governance processes or a keen interest in learning about them
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing individual responsibilities
- A passion for maintaining standards and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations

The Organisation
The Diocese of Bristol is the administrative area of the Church of England that covers Bristol, Swindon, smaller towns and surrounding rural areas. Around 15,000 children and young people attend our 71 church schools and there are more than 200 churches in the Diocese, led by ministry teams. The Diocese can be seen as a family of 30,000 or so clergy, school staff and students, other staff, parish teams, volunteers and church attenders who work together with a common goal for all people to flourish and experience ‘life in all its fullness’.
