Ready to serve. Ready to Lead.
PREPARED is leadership training developed in the Diocese of Bristol for people in Priority Communities who want to grow in faith, confidence and leadership. It equips local people to serve their neighbourhoods and lead change where they already are.
What is PREPARED?
PREPARED is a practical, interactive course that helps you:
- Grow in your relationship with God
- Share your faith in everyday life
- Develop leadership skills rooted in real experience
Shaped by urban and estate contexts, PREPARED focuses on raising up authentic leaders from within their own communities. It has been designed in the Diocese of Bristol but is applicable across urban environments on a national scale.
What you’ll experience
PREPARED is built around learning together and putting faith into action:
- Interactive sessions with discussion and reflection
- Teaching grounded in Scripture and lived experience
- Mentoring and peer support along the way
- Opportunities to apply what you learn in your local context
It’s not just about learning, it’s about growing as a leader where you are.
Who is it for?
PREPARED is for anyone who:
- Feels a calling - or just a nudge - to serve others
- Want to grow in confidence, faith and leadership
- Are already involved in church or community life
You don’t need formal qualifications, just a willingness to step forward and explore what God might be calling you to. This could be becoming a lead gardener within your parish, or a lay worship leader, it might be stepping into a team leader role for your church's foodbank or taking responsibility for a small group. What your leadership looks like, will be shaped by your own skills and experiences.
Get involved
There are several ways to be part of PREPARED:
- Join a programme through your church
- Encourage someone else who shows leadership potential
- Host or support a PREPARED course
- Become a facilitator and help equip others
📧 Email the PCN team on prioritycommunitiesnetwork@bristoldiocese.org to find out more about how to get involved.
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
