Formerly known as the DAC Awards Scheme, the Church Transformation Awards highlights and celebrates the achievements of parishes from across the Diocese.
The awards recognise transformational building projects - from accessibility innovation and historic restoration, environmental impact to community outreach - undertaken by churches.
Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC)
The Diocesan Advisory Committee forms a key part of the process by which parishes develop proposals for their buildings and obtain consent to carry out work. It works closely with parishes in caring for their buildings and in adapting them to support their mission and growth. In doing so it encounters many people working with incredible commitment and passion, often with significant obstacles to be overcome.
The DAC recognises the achievement of each and every parish. It celebrates every case where work is subsequently undertaken and completed, especially where that allows the parish to focus anew on its mission and in bringing people to faith in Christ.
Each year the DAC recognises a number of parishes with awards to celebrate their dedicated work. The now renamed, Church Transformation Awards (CTAs), are given where a parish has completed a project to an exceptional standard of workmanship, or where a project has been key to that parishs growth and mission.
Nominations for awards may be made by anyone throughout the year. However, projects must be complete at the time of nomination. A nomination window also takes place in September, to remind parishes to nominate their projects, should they wish to do so. The Awards event is then hosted at one of our previous winners parishes, in May of the following year.
Introducing the People's Award
We’re delighted to introduce our first-ever People’s Award! This year, we’re inviting the public to have their say by voting for the parish project that has inspired them the most. The project with the highest number of votes will be honoured on the night with a special People’s Award, celebrating its positive impact across the Diocese.
