The Diocese of Bristol is holding open workshops for everyone in the region as part of a conversation about its future direction.

Transforming Church. Together is part of a year-long process to engage with and understand all perspectives on the future of the church: from those inside the church, those who relate to it and those who may never have given it a thought.

The diocese is keen to ensure it listens to voices it doesn't often hear, and that the process is as inclusive as possible. As part of that aim, the diocese is running a series of workshops during March and April for specific groups of people to provide space for discussion about specific issues and identities. As well as open workshops for all, there are focused workshops for particular groups, such as for black, Asian and minority ethnic people, LGBTQI+ people, disabled people, those with caring responsibilities, and for young people and students. Anyone is welcome to attend any or a number of the workshops.

All of the dates and booking details of the workshops can be found here. Each workshop will be structured around focused questions that explore what the church in the region does well and what we need to improve on.

There is also a short online questionnaire, for anyone who cannot attend a workshop and would like to contribute. The diocese is able to help with any access requirements.

The Bishop of Bristol, the Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, said:

“As Bishop of Bristol, I am called to be the Bishop for everyone. As Anglicans, as the Church of England, we are called to be a church for everyone. This remains at the core of all that we do and means we must be relentlessly inclusive in our approach, reaching out to everyone in our diocese.”
