Join the conversation

Transforming Church. Together will begin with conversations – with communities, congregations, clergy, church leaders, and staff. Between February and April 2021 we will start talking with and listening to lots of different people, both within and outside the church.

We will listen carefully to understand what each other think and feel about God and the Church of England, but also about our communities, society and the world.

The aim is to be relentlessly inclusive in our approach and we are committed to listening to voices that we don’t often hear, opinions that we may find difficult and those that challenge the status quo.

Ways to get involved

The Diocese of Bristol covers Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire and Swindon. We will be inviting everyone in our region to join the conversation about our future direction.

There will be lots of different ways to get involved, which we hope will reach as many people as possible – such as through virtual meetings and workshops, online questionnaires, social media and through churches.

If you would like there to be a workshop at your church and there currently isn’t one planned, please talk to your vicar. We are also running open workshops, for everyone, which will be announced here soon.

And of course, we encourage everyone to complete our short online questionnaire, which should take you no longer than eight minutes fill out.

We are aware that completing an online questionnaire isn't possible for all. You can click here to download the PDF version of the questionnaire which you can print, complete and post back to our office. Alternatively, please contact transformingchurch@bristoldiocese.org to arrange for a brail version to be sent to you, or to arrange a 121 phone conversation with someone from the team. If you have any ideas or feedback about how we can ensure that this process is inclusive, please get in touch.

Thank you for helping us shape our future.
