The Covenant ...
I was speaking recently to a Methodist minister and asked him what Methodists thought of the Anglican Methodist Covenant. His response was to reply that most would say, 'What Covenant? It hasn't made a blind bit of difference!'
Does anyone out there know much about the Anglican Methodist Covenant, what it means, what difference it makes, and why it was signed? Has it made any difference at all to your ministry since it was agreed in 2003? Are you even interested?
I await responses with interest!

Re: The Covenant ...
Well I guess no replies means that either we know nothing about the Anglican Methodist Covenant, or we are not interested ...
Recent trends in ecumenical work suggest that people are very interested in working together with other Christians, but informally rather than in structured ways. Has anyone had good experiences of working ecumenically in mission and outreach with other Christians or churches that they could share?

Re: The Covenant ...
My husband and I have had experience of working with other churches. When we attended a church in Paris many years ago, our church had no provision for children under 4, but a nearby methodist church (building now sold and gone elsewhere) did, so each Sunday we'd leave our children at the Methodist church and then sing in the choir at our (Anglican) church! Later, when I was in charge of the Sunday school, we organised a nativity play with some from our church, some from the Scots Kirk, the 'anglo-catholic' church and the Methodists... in the Methodist church (it was narrated with the children miming). We were sad when the first Anglican/Methodist talks led nowhere... but when in France often went to Taizé, where one doesn't even ask the denomination of fellow-visitors.
In 2007 we led an evening Alpha course at a nearby Baptist church; it was attended by members of four different churches.
